Northern Business Forum

Membership

sunderlandArielThere are many benefits of membership including regular access to regional and national decision makers. Through NBF, you will be made aware of new and forthcoming changes in regional policy . You will often hear about proposals well in advance of wider public consultation events.  The NBF brings together those individuals who are best placed to interpret the implications of any new plans.  This means that you get informed comment on proposals under discussion, enabling you to respond in full.

As a member of NBF, you will be invited to comment on regional policies and projects.  NBF is firmly committed to voicing constructive feedback on any of the ideas or plans we review. We tend to focus on issues which affect business such as Transport, the Regional Economic Strategy, Skills, Employment and Education.

The NBF offers you a secure environment in which you can explore new ideas.  Our members are highly experienced senior professionals, well used to the protocols of working with confidential projects.  We offer government agencies a quick route to gauging business opinion on regional policy issues.  We can give formal or informal opinions from a range of business organisations very quickly, using existing consultative routes.

Membership entitles you to take part in monthly board meetings, which focus on topical issues.  You will also have the opportunity to join focussed sub groups as the need arises, to comment in more depth on matters that affect your business.  Increasingly, public sector bodies are approaching NBF to ask us to identify and nominate experts in key business areas to engage in high level consultation sessions.

Board membership is subject to the approval of the board and membership is reviewed regularly as the structure of business representation changes. To find out more about joining the Forum please contact the chairman John Cuthbert or NBF co-ordinator Sheila Chapman (see contact us page for details)
